 Metals
​This course is designed to expose students to various processes, techniques and methods related to jewelry and metalworking.  Students will develop skills and explore the use of metal materials for personal design, expression and visual problem solving. The class will help close the gap between technical proficiency and personal creativity by combining practical information regarding materials, tools and techniques. The Students will design and develop work with a wide variety of materials including copper, brass, nickel, titanium, silver, steel, wire, and semi-precious stones. The students will develop techniques such as sawing, cold connections, forming, brazing, soldering, welding, casting, machining, forging, sanding, polishing, and various surface treatments.
